Our Story

I have worked in Operations – HR , Payroll and IT – System implementations for over 12 years. I started on the client side and then I worked with implementation partners (Accenture, PWC) implementing Workday. I always felt that there was a gap between the clients and their needs and wants, and the implementers. They didn’t quite get the nuances of the operational side and how it would fit with the system. They would look at the system and try to force a square peg into a round hole, rather than adapting the software to the EXACT needs of the organization – forming gaps around the edges.

When these gaps are there, after implementation, the system doesn’t work exactly the way they need it - forcing them to reconfigure, build workarounds, develop in-house tools, and bring in even more expensive consultants to help with the implementation.

I was puzzled. They were paying integrators a lot of money to INTEGRATE software into their system. They were also paying a hefty subscription to the software. And yet, to get it to work for THEM, they needed to shell out another few thousands to get it truly customized. Otherwise it just created MORE work for the teams, rather than becoming a seamless, automated delightful tool.

The “Aha” Moment - I realized that there were two sides – the Integrators and the Operators – and they were speaking two TOTALLY different languages. I happened to speak both, and I saw exactly where the problems were rooted. I thought, what if I became the conduit, the go between – the peacemaker who can:

1. Help identify SPECIFIC needs

2. Ask for the necessary customizations BEFORE go live even happened

3. Ensure that both sides are in agreement, understanding and on the same page for a smooth implementation

And that’s when I created Sommeta (formerly known as Samudio Consulting).

There is nothing more satisfying to me than that final handshake (elbow bump?) as we hand off a successful integration with a high adoption rate. We are ensuring a smooth ride and good utilization. Happy customers is our business!
